AgEssentials AMS
Lock in herbicide performance every spray pass.
A water conditioning agent designed for herbicides that recommend or require ammonium sulfate. AMS improves performance by increasing uptake and reducing hard-water antagonism — so every active ingredient gets a fair fight.

Hard Water Stops Here.
Why AMS
Six reasons it belongs in every herbicide tank
Conditions Hard Water
Neutralizes calcium, magnesium, sodium, and iron ions that bind to herbicides and reduce in-tank activity.
Maximizes Foliar Uptake
Supports more effective absorption of nutrients and active ingredients across the leaf surface.
Dual-Purpose Use
Apply as a water conditioner or supplemental nitrogen-sulfur fertilizer — depending on your program.
Reduces Antagonism
Prevents hard-water tie-up of glyphosate, dicamba, 2,4-D and other carboxylic-acid herbicides.
Tank-Mix Compatible
Works in a wide range of tank-mix combinations and application systems — ground or air.
Nitrogen + Sulfur Boost
Guaranteed 7% N and 8% S — feeds the plant while it conditions the spray.
The hard-water problem
Calcium and magnesium are stealing your chemistry.
Cations dissolved in your spray water bind to weak-acid herbicides like glyphosate, dicamba, and 2,4-D — forming salts the plant can't absorb. AMS ties up those cations first so your actives reach the leaf intact.
- Without AMS: Ca²⁺ & Mg²⁺ ions bind to herbicide → reduced uptake.
- With AMS: SO₄²⁻ captures cations → free herbicide enters the plant.
- Bonus: NH₄⁺ enhances uptake through the cuticle for faster activity.

With AMS
Full Rate
consistent performance even in 800+ ppm water
Don't pay for chemistry your water is going to tie up.
The chemistry
A clean, concentrated formulation.
3.4 lb of ammonium sulfate per gallon. Pours, mixes, and stays in solution — no bagged AMS to handle, no undissolved solids in your boom.

Application
Application & use rates
Rates vary with water hardness, application method, equipment, droplet size and foliage condition. Follow pesticide label directions — do not exceed 5% of finished spray volume.
| Use | Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Water Conditioner (Ground or Air) | 2.5 – 5 gal / 100 gal spray | Provides 8.5 – 17 lb ammonium sulfate per 100 gal of finished solution. |
| Low-Volume Spray (< 20 GPA) | Min. 2 qt / acre | Use the higher rate when finished spray volume is less than 20 gallons per acre. |
| Supplemental Fertilizer | 1 – 2 qt / 10–20 gal water / acre | Apply per application as part of a foliar fertility program. |
Mixing instructions
- 1. Fill tank 2/3 with water and begin agitation.
- 2. Add AMS at the rate appropriate for your water and application.
- 3. Add chemistry, finish filling and maintain agitation.
Hard Water & pH Issues Bundle
Products: AMS + PH
Perfect for areas with hard water or inconsistent herbicide performance.

AMS

PH
The Challenge
High pH and hard water are quietly killing your herbicide and foliar efficacy. Without conditioning, calcium and magnesium ions tie up active ingredients before they ever reach the plant.
How the Bundle Works
AMS conditions the water and supplies ammonium sulfate for maximum uptake. PH is your built-in “magic” indicator — the entire tank turns bright pink the second it hits the ideal 4.5–5.5 range.
- Visual proof your tank is at the perfect pH — no guesswork, no test strips.
- Unlocks the full power of glyphosate, dicamba, and other actives.
- Prevents hard-water antagonism and precipitation.
- Works in every spray pass, every season.
